An Albanian bus driver sobbed "I've killed her" after her double-decker struck and killed a property executive outside London Victoria Station, a court has heard. Mirsime Berisha, 49, is on trial at Southwark Crown Court accused of driving that fell below the standard expected of a competent and careful driver in the moments before the crash, which killed 56-year-old Kathleen Finnegan.

The collision occurred on 29 January 2024 as Berisha was driving the bus near the busy London terminus. After hitting Ms Finnegan, Berisha reportedly began screaming and claimed the vehicle's handbrake had failed, before fainting in her seat several times, jurors were told. Prosecutors dispute her account of a mechanical fault, and the trial is ongoing.
