Albert Bouchard, a founding member of Blue Öyster Cult, is releasing a new chapter in his long-running "Imaginos" saga, titled "Imaginos IV: Rhyme Of The Starclock". The record continues a concept series based on the writings of the late Sandy Pearlman, the band's key collaborator, and follows a previously completed trilogy that fans thought had concluded the story. Its existence stems from a chance discovery: a cache of Pearlman's unpublished writings, uncovered when his house was sold, contained dozens of unrecorded lyrics tied to the "Imaginos" mythology.

Bouchard said the find included roughly 28 unrecorded song lyrics from around a thousand pages of material, and over the past year he has recorded more than 20 of them, with 11 appearing on this new album. "Imaginos IV" is due out on 25 September through Deko Entertainment and is available for pre-order now, featuring guest musicians including Ross "The Boss" Friedman, Lenny Kaye and Joe Cerisano. The lead single, "Four Winds Bar", draws on a lyric from Blue Öyster Cult's "Astronomy" and features the band Blue Coupe.
