Ceremony, the long-running punk band, have released their first new album in seven years, Tell Me Your Dream, which blends the aggressive hardcore sound of their early work with the atmospheric post-punk and new wave influences they have embraced in recent years. Formed in 2004 when its members were teenagers, the California band's line-up has remained unchanged since 2011, allowing them to mature stylistically while still performing their earliest material live, resulting in a record that reflects both their history and their continued evolution.

Since their previous album, 2019's In The Spirit World, singer Ross Farrar and guitarist Anthony Anzaldo have each released solo material, while Farrar and drummer Jake Casarotti have also recorded with side project Spice. The band also marked the 14th anniversary of their 2010 album Rohnert Park with a sold-out show at the Hollywood Palladium, later released as a live album. Tell Me Your Dream is described as capturing the energetic, genre-spanning feel of Ceremony's live shows, pairing ferocious punk tracks with more experimental, danceable detours, and features a reunion with a past collaborator.
