Acclaimed television writer and producer Alec Berg has signed an overall deal with Netflix, bringing his services after previous arrangements with HBO and ABC Signature. His first project under the agreement is an untitled comedy series co-written by and starring actor-writer Charlie Hall, which will focus on a drug ring operating within a college fraternity and is loosely inspired by recent events at Penn State University. Berg brings considerable pedigree to the project, having accumulated 24 Emmy nominations throughout his career.

Berg's producing partner Amy Solomon will serve as executive producer on the series, which marks the latest collaboration between the three creatives, who are also developing a separate comedy series at Hulu centred on adult recreational basketball players. Berg's previous television credits include the critically acclaimed HBO series "Barry," "Curb Your Enthusiasm," and "Silicon Valley," whilst Hall has appeared in Netflix's "Monster" anthology series, "Bel-Air," and "Veep," among other programmes.
