Saudi Arabian startup Ceer has unveiled two highly angular electric vehicles, the Exobot sedan and SUV, marking an ambitious attempt to establish the country as an electric-car producer. The vehicles are intended to attract attention with dramatic, science-fiction-inspired designs, and are expected to go on sale in Saudi Arabia from 2027. Ceer plans to introduce five more models by 2030.

The sedan has low, supercar-like proportions, while the SUV uses a taller, heavily angular design with gullwing doors and a rugged, armoured appearance. Both were designed by former McLaren design director Rob Melville, although Autocar reports that Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman had the final say on their styling. The project is being developed with Foxconn, reflecting Saudi Arabia’s wider effort to diversify its economy beyond oil.
