Alicia Silverstone and Tim Heidecker have joined the cast of Benny Safdie’s forthcoming film Lizard Music, a live-action/CGI adaptation of Daniel Pinkwater’s novel. Their roles have not been disclosed, and the announcement adds further recognisable names to a project led by newcomer Theo Clark Leber and Dwayne Johnson.

The story follows a boy who discovers a late-night broadcast featuring lizards performing strange music, leading him to The Chicken Man and his 111-year-old chicken, Claudia. Safdie wrote the screenplay and is producing alongside Johnson, United Artists’ Scott Stuber and Nick Nesbitt, and David Koplan of Magnetic Fields Entertainment.
