Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 confirms release date and it’s closer than you think
Cold Iron Studios has confirmed that Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 will launch on 25 August 2026, making the sequel’s release substantially closer than its previously broad third-quarter window suggested. The announcement matters because it confirms the return of the co-operative Aliens shooter with expanded four-player squads, cross-platform play and new tactical options.
The game was first hinted at through a leaked pitch deck in July 2024, which had anticipated a launch by the third quarter of 2025; it was formally confirmed in May with a 2026 release window. Its features include five classes, new perks, weapons and Xenomorphs, an updated horde mode, a customisable Specialist endgame class and in-game voice chat. It will be released on Steam, the Epic Games Store, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
