Dell's Alienware AW2726DM has launched as a budget-friendly QD-OLED gaming monitor priced at just $350, a dramatic drop from the $1,400 cost of Alienware's original OLED gaming monitor, the AW3423DW, released three years earlier. Reviewer Matthew S. Smith found that despite the steep price cut, Alienware made sensible compromises rather than gutting the product's core strengths, resulting in an 8/10-rated monitor that delivers strong image quality for a fraction of the cost of premium alternatives.

The 27-inch monitor features a 2560×1440 resolution and 240Hz refresh rate, using an older-style QD-OLED panel with a "triangle" sub-pixel layout that can cause colour fringing around small text and limits sharpness compared with 4K screens. However, it retains OLED's hallmark contrast and colour performance, covering 98 percent of the DCI-P3 colour space and 94 percent of AdobeRGB, figures competitive with far pricier monitors. Its main weakness is brightness, capped at around 200 nits, well below the 300-plus nits offered by costlier OLED rivals such as the MSI MPG 271QR X50, and its HDMI ports are limited to 120Hz with no USB connectivity.
