All 14 Assassin’s Creed Games, Ranked
A gaming publication has ranked all 14 mainline entries in Ubisoft's long-running Assassin's Creed franchise, which spans diverse historical periods and blends historical fiction with supernatural lore centred on a millennia-long conflict between Assassins and Templars. The series has evolved significantly over time, with recent iterations moving towards role-playing mechanics and expanded narratives.
The lowest-ranked games reveal divergent problems: Valhalla (2020) suffers from narrative bloat and an excessive emphasis on mythological elements that dilute the franchise's core identity, whilst Mirage (2023) overcorrected by becoming too brief and failing to innovate despite returning to urban-focused gameplay. Unity (2014), set during the French Revolution, rounds out the bottom three, burdened by widespread technical failures that made it nearly unplayable at release.

- Unity plagued by severe technical issues at launch despite compelling French Revolution setting
