Phasmophobia’s 25 August 2026 quality-of-life update added smaller Restricted versions of Brownstone High School, changing where Cursed Possessions can appear. Players need to identify the randomly selected map variant at the start of each contract to locate these powerful items efficiently.

There are four Restricted variants, with three Cursed Possession location patterns. In first-floor variants, all seven items remain near the lobby as on the original map; in the second-floor left or right variants, six are on a bench by the relevant first-floor staircase and the Summoning Circle is near the top of that staircase. A lit side door indicates whether the left or right second-floor variant is active.
