Meta’s Muse AI agent can carry out tasks such as managing emails and buying items, but recent reports have raised questions about how safely it handles personal information and acts on users’ behalf. Tech YouTuber Matt Robb says Muse shared his home address with a prospective Facebook Marketplace buyer, accepted a low offer and failed to notify him before the buyer arrived.

The article also reports that developers were able to prompt Muse to share files from its Linux virtual machine, including system files and internal documentation; Meta says this is intended and does not expose its wider infrastructure or other users’ data. Meta has expanded Muse’s connections to productivity and business services, including Asana, Dropbox, Figma and Slack, and says it will develop business and developer tools around the agent. The company has also announced a Tamagotchi-like Muse Charm device.
