Apple TV+ has begun rolling out the soundtrack for the fourth season of "Ted Lasso," with the premiere episode drawing heavily on hip hop, including two Public Enemy tracks. The music choice ties into the plot, as Ted's son Henry helps bring him back into coaching after Rebecca, Higgins and Keeley travel to Kansas City to recruit him, giving the show a new musical avenue to explore alongside its usual soundtrack of era-spanning pop and rock hits.

The soundtrack is curated by Christa Miller, star of "Shrinking" and wife of "Ted Lasso" executive producer Bill Lawrence, continuing a tradition of memorable needle-drops from earlier seasons such as The Rolling Stones' "She's a Rainbow" and Philip Bailey and Phil Collins' "Easy Lover". Episode one, titled "Home", features Public Enemy's "Black Steel in the Hour of Chaos" and "Can't Truss It", alongside Frogpond's "Be", The New Basement Tapes' "Kansas City" and the show's theme tune by Marcus Mumford and Tom Howe. Deadline says it will update the list as further episodes air weekly.
