All you need to know about Challenge Cup final
Glentoran and holders Cliftonville meet at Windsor Park on Saturday in the Women’s Challenge Cup final, the last match of Northern Ireland’s domestic season. Cliftonville have won the league and beaten Glentoran in all four matches played this season, but the final offers Glentoran a chance to finish the campaign with a major trophy.
Cliftonville’s 4-0 League Cup final win in July was overturned after the club fielded two ineligible players, and the result was awarded to Glentoran as a 3-0 victory. The teams later met three times in the league, with Cliftonville winning each match; they also reached the final through victories over Lisburn Rangers and Crusaders Strikers, while Glentoran beat Comber Rec, Linfield and Lisburn. The match is scheduled for 19:30 BST on 24 October and will be shown on BBC iPlayer and BBC Sport.
