Amazon ditches GrubHub, taps Uber Eats for Prime
Amazon has named Uber Eats as its restaurant delivery partner for US Prime members, ending its commercial agreement with Grubhub. The change gives Amazon another benefit to promote Prime and deepens its existing relationship with Uber.
Prime members can order through Amazon.com or the Amazon Shopping app without an Uber account, and pay no delivery fee on orders over $25. For the first two weeks, Amazon and Uber are offering $20 off a first order of at least $25. Amazon and Grubhub began offering Prime members free Grubhub+ in 2022; Amazon later made the benefit ongoing, while a separate deal allowed it to build an equity stake in Grubhub, though it cashed out its exercisable warrants in December 2024.
In short
- Uber Eats replaces Grubhub as Amazon’s US Prime delivery partner.
- Orders over $25 have no delivery fee for Prime members.
- New users can get $20 off their first qualifying order.
