Amazon refreshes Kindle range with colour options and page-turn button case
Amazon has launched refreshed Kindle, Paperwhite and Colorsoft models with slimmer designs, faster book opening and new colour choices. The range adds aluminium versions and a magnetic case with physical page-turn buttons, bringing back a feature associated with the Kindle Oasis.
The new Kindles are about a millimetre thinner and open books 30 per cent faster, while retaining the Paperwhite and Colorsoft displays. Prices start at $149.99 for the plastic base Kindle; aluminium models cost more and offer 32GB of storage, compared with 16GB in plastic versions. The Signature Edition Paperwhite and Colorsoft support a $79.99 button case, while Amazon’s $34.99 Kindle Click remote works with Kindles from 2024 onwards. Amazon says the devices have user-replaceable batteries to comply with EU regulations.
