Amazon is adding an upgraded Alexa+ experience to Fire TV and its mobile app, with US users due to get access from November. The assistant will use reasoning to handle more complex entertainment queries, drawing on users’ subscriptions and viewing history, as well as current affairs.

On Fire TV, Alexa+ will offer personalised prompt suggestions and recommendations, including suggestions based on photos users upload. In the mobile app, users can share article links to add mentioned titles to their watchlists, start streaming through links to services, then resume on their TV. Other updates include live content from more than 40 apps, a hub for cloud gaming, and a redesigned Fire TV Music app; the updates are due in the US later this year and elsewhere early next year.
