Amy Sedaris has joined the cast of Apple TV’s comedy series “Protective Custody”, alongside Ben Stiller and Benicio Del Toro. The series follows Stiller as a disgraced financier accused of major fraud who enters protective custody before trial, forcing him to contend with prison politics, his damaged reputation and the consequences of his alleged actions. The casting adds another recognised comedy performer to an Apple Studios production led by prominent actors and creators.

Sedaris’s character has not been revealed. She is known for “Strangers with Candy”, which she co-created, plus “At Home with Amy Sedaris” and “BoJack Horseman”, and received two Emmy nominations for her sketch series. Mike Judge is co-writing, executive producing and directing the show with Steve Hely and Dave King as co-writers, executive producers and co-showrunners; Stiller also executive produces through Red Hour.
