Amyl & The Sniffers announce country concert film and live album ‘Truth Or Consequence’
Amyl & The Sniffers have announced a new concert film, "Truth Or Consequence," alongside a companion live album, marking a departure for the Australian punk band as they reimagine their material in a stripped-back country style. The one-off performance, filmed at the El Coyote Mexican restaurant in Los Angeles in front of friends, is billed by the band as "intimate, loose and full of fun" and aims to show a side of the group audiences haven't seen before.
The set included two unreleased songs, a cover of Slim Dusty's "Lights On The Hill" and several fan favourites, though a full tracklist has not yet been released. Directed by John Angus Stewart, the film also features behind-the-scenes footage and will screen at limited theatrical showings across the UK, Ireland, Europe and Australia later this month and into September, with the album following on vinyl and streaming platforms on 4 September. The announcement comes as the band, who released their most recent album "Cartoon Darkness" in 2024, prepare for UK and European dates this month, including All Points East presents Outbreak in London and Bristol's Forwards Festival.
