An iOS 27 bug can temporarily freeze an iPhone when users swipe down to open Notification Centre and Control Centre in quick succession. The issue does not permanently damage the device, but it prevents taps and swipes from registering, requiring a force restart.

Users should quickly press and release the volume-up button, then the volume-down button, before holding the side button until the Apple logo appears; this may take more than 10 seconds. The bug leaves buttons and icons stuck at the top of the screen, and Apple is expected to release a future software fix.
