ANDERS FRIDÉN Says IN FLAMES’ 15th Studio Album Hasn’t Been Mixed Yet: But ‘It Sounds Amazing Already’
IN FLAMES frontman Anders Fridén has said the band’s fifteenth studio album is still being completed and has not yet been mixed, rejecting rumours that it is finished. He said the record already sounds “amazing” and aims to bring together everything the band has been, signalling continuity rather than a major stylistic departure.
The Swedish/American metal band again recorded with producer Howard Benson and engineer Mike Plotnikoff in Los Angeles, continuing a partnership dating back to 2016’s *Battles*. The album will follow 2023’s *Foregone* and is expected to be the recording debut of touring drummer Jon Rice, who joined the group on the road in May 2025; Fridén also reflected on IN FLAMES’ influence on melodic death metal and welcomed newer bands drawing inspiration from them.
- IN FLAMES’ fifteenth album remains unfinished and unmixed.
- Fridén says it combines the band’s past and present.
- Jon Rice is expected to make his recording debut.
