Republican Congressman Thomas Massie accused Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor, the former Duke of York, of committing sex crimes in the United States during a speech in the US House of Representatives. Massie, a prominent voice in the campaign to release further Jeffrey Epstein-related files, called for associates of the late paedophile to be investigated and prosecuted, naming Andrew alongside former Barclays chief executive Jes Staley and magician David Copperfield. The intervention adds fresh political pressure over the handling of the Epstein case and revives long-standing allegations against Andrew, which he continues to strenuously deny.

Massie told the House that perpetrators "should be investigated and prosecuted" and suggested that naming individuals might "shame the Department of Justice into delivering justice." The allegations echo claims made by Epstein victim Virginia Giuffre, who said she was trafficked to Andrew by Epstein and had sexual encounters with him three times as a 17-year-old, including twice in New York and once on Epstein's private island in the US Virgin Islands. Andrew has consistently and vehemently denied any wrongdoing.
