Music Managers Forum chief executive Annabella Coldrick said she hoped Burnham would back reforms on streaming, ticketing and AI licensing rights, calling his past role as culture secretary a "huge positive". As mayor, Burnham championed Manchester's music scene, backing Aviva Studios, Beyond The Music at SXSW, and bringing the BRIT Awards to Co-op Live in February 2026, the first time the ceremony was held outside London.
