Andy Burnham responds to cheeky wedding request for No 10 North from bride-to-be

The Independent · 2 hours ago

Andy Burnham, newly installed as prime minister and running his "No 10 North" headquarters from Heron House in Manchester, has responded to a bride-to-be's plea to keep security away from her upcoming wedding at the same building. Saz Burwin, who is due to marry at Manchester Register Office within the venue next month, raised the issue after Burnham's first ministerial meeting there was accompanied by a heavy security presence, prompting her fears that police and officials could disrupt her big day.

Burwin posted a TikTok video appealing directly to Burnham to spare her wedding from the security operation surrounding his new headquarters. Burnham replied within a few hours with a brief, good-humoured comment reading "Noted Saz", acknowledging her request without confirming what, if any, changes would be made for the ceremony.
