Andy Grammer has released his new single, “All I Want Is You”, which has taken on a personal meaning following the birth of his third daughter, West, two months earlier. Although he did not originally write it about her, he now thinks of her whenever he performs it on his Big Stupid Heart Tour, illustrating how he believes songs can gain new meanings for both artists and listeners.

The track will feature on Grammer’s forthcoming album, Big Stupid Heart, due on 16 October alongside “Best Hearts” and the title track. He said the record uses prominent cello and drums while exploring the deliberate choice to remain sincere and optimistic despite cynicism; “Best Hearts” was inspired by voice notes submitted to his podcast, Showing Up With Andy Grammer.

  • Grammer’s new single gained meaning after his daughter West’s birth.
  • “All I Want Is You” features on October’s Big Stupid Heart album.
  • The album explores optimism as a conscious choice.
