Anghami co-founder Eddy Maroun launches Arabic music IP platform IPNation, targeting $100m with backing from Influence Media Partners
IPNation, a new UAE-based investment platform for Arabic music catalogues and entertainment intellectual property, has launched with an undisclosed initial commitment from Influence Media Partners. Founded by Anghami co-founder Eddy Maroun and former Multiply Group investment chief Jose Maria Dot, it aims to raise and invest $100 million across the Middle East and North Africa. The launch matters because it seeks to create greater regional ownership and commercial value from Arabic cultural assets, which its founders say have historically been undervalued.
The company plans to buy and develop master recordings, publishing rights, artist brands, name-image-likeness rights and other Arab-world entertainment IP. It intends to expand acquired assets into live events, film, documentaries, merchandise, gaming, licensing, AI-derived products and fan engagement. Influence Media, backed through partnerships involving BlackRock-managed funds, has previously built a $750 million music-rights fund and recently agreed to acquire most of Anthem Entertainment’s assets for more than $600 million.
