ANGRA guitarist Rafael Bittencourt has spoken about the Brazilian metal band's new vocalist, Alírio Netto, who officially took over from longtime singer Fabio Lione in November 2025. Bittencourt stressed that Netto's suitability goes beyond vocal skill: as a long-standing friend of the band who had visited and stayed with Bittencourt even before joining, his integration felt natural, and the friendship has reportedly grown stronger rather than being strained by the professional change.

Bittencourt also credited Netto's theatrical background with reshaping ANGRA's live shows, particularly how lighting, video screens and song pacing are used to balance high-energy tracks with ballads. Netto's piano playing during concerts has evoked comparisons to Freddie Mercury and stirred nostalgia for late ANGRA frontman André Matos, who also performed on piano. Looking ahead, Bittencourt said the band has no firm plans for new material, focusing instead on marking the anniversaries of two classic albums, "Holy Land" (1996) and "Rebirth" (2001), both celebrating milestones this year.
