Universal Pictures will campaign Anne Hathaway for supporting actress for her role as Penelope in Christopher Nolan’s blockbuster The Odyssey. The decision places her alongside co-star Samantha Morton in the same category, while Matt Damon remains the film’s sole leading acting contender, and could give Universal two supporting actress nominees from one film.

The Odyssey has earned more than $1.6 billion worldwide and is central to Universal’s best picture campaign. Hathaway, who previously won in this category for Les Misérables, could become only the third woman to win supporting actress twice; a victory would also mark her extensive 2026 film run, following Mother Mary and The Devil Wears Prada 2.
