Anne Hathaway’s Wild New Horror Movie Officially Surges on Streaming

Collider · 4 hours ago

Anne Hathaway's psychological drama Mother Mary has become a surprise streaming success on HBO Max, months after flopping at the cinema. The David Lowery-directed film, which explores the pressures of fame and friendship, took just $3 million at the box office against a $20 million budget earlier in 2026, but is now ranking among the platform's ten most-watched titles in the United States.

The film also stars Michaela Coel, Hunter Schafer and FKA Twigs, and arrives amid an unusually busy year for Hathaway, who has appeared in The Devil Wears Prada 2, dinosaur thriller The End of Oak Street and Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey, which has become his highest-grossing film. She is also expecting her third child with husband Adam Shulman, and has another release still to come: the Colleen Hoover adaptation Verity, directed by Michael Showalter and co-starring Dakota Johnson and Josh Hartnett, due out on 2 October.
