Anne Sweeney has resigned from Netflix’s board after more than 11 years as a director, the company disclosed in an SEC filing. Netflix said her resignation, effective 26 July, was not due to any disagreement with the company; it marks another significant board change following Reed Hastings’s departure as executive chairman in June.

Sweeney joined the board in March 2015 and served on its compensation committee, bringing more than three decades of media experience from senior roles at Disney, FX Networks and Nickelodeon. Her Disney career included overseeing global cable, broadcast and satellite television operations, while Netflix recently named long-serving director and early investor Jay Hoag as chairman after Hastings stepped down.
