IGN has launched Game Scope, a new daily browser game that challenges players to identify a video game from a heavily zoomed-in screenshot, with the option to zoom out for extra clues. The game grew out of a long-running segment on IGN's Game Scoop show and is being rolled out as a standalone daily title, free to play for everyone, as part of a wider push by IGN to build a suite of daily games centred on video games and pop culture rather than generic trivia.

Logged-in users can track their daily streak and appear on scoring leaderboards, while IGN Plus subscribers get additional access to an archive of past puzzles for days they may have missed. The game is currently in beta, and IGN is inviting players to complete a short, four-question feedback survey covering issues such as scoring balance and how the zoom mechanic should work across desktop and mobile devices. Players are also encouraged to chase the "five crowns" achievement and compete on the global leaderboard.
