Anthropic says its Claude chatbot leads 26% of the company’s AI research and development, meaning it can complete most tasks from a high-level prompt while a human supervises. The figure highlights how deeply AI is being integrated into frontier research, while Anthropic stresses that Claude is not fully autonomous in any measured area.

The company also says AI performs substantial portions of more than 90% of its research under close human direction. Anthropic proposed tracking AI-led research, agent oversight and computing resources to improve transparency and help assess whether development is moving too quickly, though regulation remains uncertain and the industry largely relies on voluntary commitments.
