Explained simply
Formula One has two world championships: one for drivers and one for teams. The drivers’ title is decided by points across the season, with points awarded according to where drivers finish in each race. Kimi Antonelli, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell are among the drivers in contention.
The Premier League is England’s top men’s football competition, while women’s football has its own league and international fixtures. Cricket matches can be played in different formats, from short limited-overs games to Test matches lasting up to five days. The NFL is the United States’ top professional American football league, where teams compete over a regular season before the play-offs.
