Apple has raised the prices of all its older iPhone models still on sale by $100 each, immediately after unveiling the new iPhone Duo and iPhone 18 Pro at its "Surprise and shine" event. The increases mean anyone wanting a cheaper, previous-generation iPhone now pays significantly more than they would have just a day earlier, effectively narrowing the gap between older and newer models.

The iPhone 16 has risen from $699 to $799, the 256GB iPhone 17E from $599 to $699, and the 256GB iPhone 17 from $799 to $899. The iPhone Air has also gone up, from $999 to $1,099. Notably, the base iPhone 18 was absent from the event altogether, with Apple instead focusing on its priciest new models, which start at $1,199.
