Apple TV Seeking Local Language Boss

Deadline · 3 hours ago

Apple TV is advertising for a new Head of Local Language Scripted, a newly created London-based role that will sit within international content chief Jay Hunt's team. The hire follows the departures of international development chief Morgan Wandell, who is launching his own production company, and international scripted executive Oliver Jones, who has moved to Amazon, prompting Apple to reshuffle its international operation and expand Hunt's remit to cover all local-language original programming.

According to the LinkedIn job listing, the successful candidate will set strategy and commission content, define a comprehensive local-language scripted slate across key international markets, assess scripts for their potential as Apple series, and liaise with talent and agents while navigating regional quotas and compliance rules. Apple's international output remains modest relative to its US slate, but under Hunt it has produced hits including Slow Horses, Bad Sisters and Hijack in the UK, alongside French, Spanish and German series and a co-producing credit on Tehran. Apple's head of programming, Matt Cherniss, has meanwhile taken over oversight of Wandell's former slate.
