Speaking to Variety, Cherniss said Gilligan and his team are prioritising quality over speed, taking extra time to ensure Season 2 lives up to the first season's standard, while acknowledging the show is complicated to produce and shoot. Early scripts are reportedly being submitted and progress is described as steady, but when asked whether a 2028 release was realistic, Cherniss declined to commit to any timeframe.
