Across the 10-episode season, convicted murderer Max Cady, played by Javier Bardem, is released after 17 years when another person confesses to his crime. He targets the lawyers from his trial, Anna and Tom Bowden, now married with children, beginning with smaller threats before escalating to catfishing their son, drone surveillance, an apparent AI voice clone and manipulated camera failures.
