Apple TV’s MI5-Approved Spy Thriller Returns in Less Than Two Months
Apple TV's spy drama Slow Horses will return for its sixth season on 16 September 2026, less than two months from now. The show, based on Mick Herron's novel series and led by Gary Oldman as the acerbic Jackson Lamb, has become one of the streamer's most reliable performers, and its return adds to a strong year of Apple TV content that has also included new seasons of Silo, Shrinking, Monarch: Legacy of Monsters and Your Friends & Neighbors.
Slow Horses has won two Primetime Emmy Awards and holds an average Rotten Tomatoes score of 97%, and has reportedly been praised by the real MI5. Apple has already renewed the show for a seventh season, underlining its confidence in the series. Season 6 will break from the usual one-book-per-season format by adapting two Herron novels, Joe Country (2019) and Slough House (2021), in a single run.
