Apple has removed ICE-tracking apps from its App Store, an action that US Representative Jamie Raskin alleges was coordinated with the Trump administration to suppress Americans' ability to record and report on Immigration and Customs Enforcement activities. Raskin contends that Apple lacks credible evidence supporting safety concerns and has instead exploited deaths from a separate incident to justify what he characterises as unconstitutional censorship violating First Amendment rights.

The removal followed a September 2025 shooting at a Dallas ICE facility where two detainees were killed, though the initial investigation found no connection between the shooting and the tracking apps. The Department of Homeland Security and FBI director Kash Patel have claimed the shooting targeted ICE agents and cited an unverified statistic about an 8,000 percent increase in death threats against officers. Apple justified the removal by asserting that precise location data about ICE officers could enable targeted violence, but Raskin argues there is no evidence the Dallas shooter used the apps and notes he could have located the facility using standard Apple mapping applications. The creator of ICEBlock has separately claimed in court that Trump administration officials publicly bragged about securing the app's removal, contradicting federal denials that authorities pressured Apple.
