The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt has received a free remastered upgrade for PS5 owners, addressing several longstanding criticisms about character controls and responsiveness that had become increasingly noticeable in the previous Complete Edition. Whilst not featuring transformative new content, the remaster refines the experience through meaningful adjustments to movement mechanics, horse control, and combat systems, making the landmark title feel more modern and polished.

The primary improvements focus on Geralt's responsiveness—particularly when turning, sprinting and stopping—with significantly faster animation transitions when navigating obstacles. Roach, the player's horse, is substantially more controllable during traversal and races. Combat enhancements include increased magnetism to sword swings and reworked enemy behaviour that eliminates frustrating patterns from certain foes; however, targeting issues in multi-enemy encounters persist. The overhauled skill tree now emphasises active perks that reward specific combat actions, such as attacking after successful dodges, making battles feel more engaging and reactive.
