Apple has expanded AppleCare One, its single-plan insurance for multiple devices such as iPhones, iPads, Apple Watches and MacBooks, beyond the US for the first time. A year after its US launch, the service will roll out to the UK, France, Germany and Australia from 4th August, giving customers in those markets a simpler, unified alternative to taking out separate AppleCare+ policies for each device.

In the UK, AppleCare One will cost £16.99 a month for three devices, with extra devices covered at £4.99 a month each; France's pricing is €20.99 and €5.99 respectively, broadly matching the US rate of $20 and $6. The plan mirrors AppleCare+ with theft and loss cover, including accidental damage repairs, battery replacement and priority support, and can also cover existing devices up to four years old in good condition. Apple is simultaneously extending theft and loss cover to iPad and Apple Watch under standard AppleCare+ in the UK, though whether AppleCare One saves money depends on the devices involved — it tends to favour owners of higher-end kit or those insuring several devices, while basic single-device coverage can work out cheaper separately.
