The Browser Company will retire Arc as it shifts focus to Dia
The Browser Company will shut down its Arc browser, ending support across desktop and mobile in stages. The move marks a full shift to Dia, its AI-focused browser, and matters for Arc users who will lose access to accounts, syncing and features.
New Arc accounts are no longer available. On 23 November, mobile AI features and sign-in and tab syncing will stop; on 22 December, Arc will become inaccessible on macOS and Windows, accounts will be deactivated, and Arc Search will be removed from Google Play. Users can find guidance on importing data into Dia, where the company says its security team is now focused. Atlassian acquired The Browser Company last year for $610 million.
In short
- Arc will shut down on 22 December.
- Mobile features and syncing end earlier, on 23 November.
- The Browser Company is focusing on Dia.
