Arc Raiders, an extraction shooter that experienced a strong debut in 2025 but has seen declining player numbers in 2026, will receive its most substantial update yet on 8 October. Developer Embark Studios paused monthly updates in May to focus on delivering Frozen Trail, which aims to revitalise the game with major new content and features. This significant update represents an attempt to address player concerns and reignite interest in the title.

The Frozen Trail update introduces a new map called Pendola Pass featuring a colossal fallen Emperor enemy, alongside a high-stakes endgame raid called the Frigate—a massive airborne carrier that emphasises puzzle-solving over pure damage absorption. Players will encounter new enemies including the multi-gun Hydra and area-specific foes like the Skulker and Bully, whilst gaining access to new weapons (the Stiletto battle rifle and Bantam revolver) and a weapon amplification system offering 15 possible modifications. The update also adds three new mobility tools—the highly anticipated Grappling Hook, Tether Launcher, and Yank Grenade—alongside weapon skins and a new reward pass system.
