Arc Raiders Is Finally Getting More Endgame Content
Arc Raiders has experienced a dramatic decline in player numbers, dropping from over 480,000 concurrent players to approximately 25,000 daily users, primarily because the game lacks sufficient endgame content to retain players after they have mastered the available challenges. This sharp drop highlights how critical engaging endgame activities are for maintaining player bases in live-service games.
Currently, endgame options are limited to repeatedly defeating two boss enemies (the Queen and Matriarch) or competing against other players in PvP combat, neither of which has proven sufficiently engaging or rewarding. Producer Aleksander Grøndal has acknowledged these complaints and confirmed that the upcoming Frozen Trail update, scheduled for 8 October, will introduce new repeatable activities and enhanced rewards for PvP participation. However, he emphasised that no single solution will satisfy all players, stating that the studio plans to address endgame issues through multiple smaller updates alongside major releases scheduled approximately every six months.
- Player base collapsed from 480k to 25k due to sparse endgame content
- Frozen Trail update (8 October) adds activities and improves PvP rewards
- Future updates will gradually address endgame issues for different player types
