Arca has announced her first full-length studio album in five years, titled XXXXX, set for release on Friday 31 July via XL Recordings. The record follows her Kick series, which ran from 2020 to 2021, marking her return to solo album releases despite having stayed busy with a range of collaborative work in the interim.
Ahead of the release, Arca hosted a livestream performance called "Diva.Experimental", directed by Daniel Sannwald, broadcast from seven locations across Barcelona and funded by dating app Feeld, featuring unreleased tracks from the 16-song album. Over the past year she released the singles "Puta" and "Sola", contributed to Madonna's Confessions II, and worked with artists including Addison Rae, Hikaru Utada and Tokischa; the album's artwork was created by Kaan Ulgener, with a tracklist including songs such as "No End", "Willow" and "Sueño Jazz".

Arca is the recording alias of the Venezuelan-American musician Alejandra Ghersi, known for genre-blurring, experimental electronic music and for her production work with other artists. She has just announced her first standalone album in five years, following the acclaimed Kick series she released between 2020 and 2021, and it is set to come out through the British label XL Recordings, home to acts such as Radiohead and Adele.
In the years since Kick, Arca has largely worked on other people's projects and one-off singles rather than a full album of her own, so this release marks a return to a bigger, self-contained body of work. XL Recordings' involvement matters because the label has a track record of championing distinctive, boundary-pushing artists, which places the album within a wider context of serious critical attention.
The announcement also comes with a promotional livestream event, tying the record to a broader rollout involving visual artists and a corporate sponsor, which reflects how album launches increasingly combine music with staged live experiences and brand partnerships.
