Argonon Unveils Major Leadership Changes as Amanda Goddard Upped to President and Global CEO

Variety · 29 minutes ago

Argonon, the major independent television production company, has announced its most significant leadership restructuring since its 2011 founding. Amanda Goddard has been promoted from chief commercial and legal officer to president and global CEO, taking charge of the seven-company group, whilst founder James Burstall steps back to become executive chairman after 15 years in the top role. This strategic transition reflects the company's ambition to navigate a rapidly evolving media landscape and positions it for the next phase of growth across digital, AI and new content funding models.

The reshuffle also includes Matt Widmayer's elevation to global CFO and external board consultant Hasham Khan joining the leadership structure. Goddard, who joined Argonon in 2019, has been instrumental in the company's diversification strategy, leveraging its extensive library of over 5,800 hours of content to generate commercial revenues across brand partnerships, sponsorship, streaming platforms and podcasts. Alongside these personnel changes, Argonon is investing in digital and self-publishing content, expanding its New York operations, developing new post-production facilities in London and accelerating its AI capabilities—all aimed at reaching audiences across more than 160 countries.
