Ariana Grande Debuts “Petal” In Montreal
Ariana Grande gave fans a preview of her forthcoming album during a tour stop in Montreal, performing the previously unheard title track "petal" live for the first time. The album, also titled "petal", is due for release this Friday, with only the single "hate that i made you love me" released so far, so the surprise performance offered an early glimpse of unreleased material ahead of its official debut.
The show at Centre Bell on 28 July saw Grande open her encore with "petal", followed by "eternal sunshine" tracks "we can't be friends (wait for your love)" and "supernatural". She also performed an a cappella snippet of "worst behavior" from her 2020 album Positions for the first time. The concert is part of her first tour in six and a half years, largely supporting 2024's eternal sunshine, and comes as she pursues legal action against an unidentified group of hackers accused of leaking her unreleased music, photos and videos.
