Ariana Grande has thanked fans after her album "Petal" debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200, marking her seventh chart-topping album. She shared her gratitude via an Instagram Story on Sunday 9 August, reposting Billboard's announcement with the message "thank you from the bottom of my heart."

The milestone comes as Grande wraps the North American leg of her Eternal Sunshine Tour, which concluded on Friday in Chicago; she next travels to London for ten final shows at the O2 Arena between 15 August and 1 September. Once the tour ends, Grande plans to "step back from visibility" for a period of rest, a decision her representative says was made "quietly… a long time ago" rather than in response to recent public scrutiny over her appearance. The break will also see her withdraw from a planned starring role in a London revival of Stephen Sondheim's "Sunday in the Park with George", originally expected to open next summer.
