A worker has died after reportedly being struck by a vehicle at Evri’s parcel distribution hub in Hoyland, Barnsley. Police have arrested a man on suspicion of gross negligence manslaughter, while the incident is being investigated alongside the Health and Safety Executive.

Emergency services were called to the site at about 20:00 BST on Thursday, and the man, believed to be in his 30s, died at the scene. The arrested man is 34 and remains in custody; Evri said it was supporting the victim’s family, colleagues and police.
