Arsenal continue squad revamp with signing of Spain keeper Misa Rodríguez

The Guardian · 4 hours ago

Arsenal have signed Spain international goalkeeper Misa Rodríguez on a free transfer, continuing a significant overhaul of their squad ahead of the new season. The 27-year-old leaves Real Madrid after six years at the club, becoming the latest arrival as the Women's Super League side look to build a squad capable of challenging for the title after finishing runners-up to Manchester City last season.

Rodríguez, who has twice won the Zamora Trophy for the league's best goals-per-game ratio and was made Real Madrid captain in 2025, joins fellow summer signings Georgia Stanway, Selina Cerci, Ona Batlle and Géraldine Reuteler at the Emirates. Head coach Renée Slegers said the 24-cap Spain keeper would strengthen a goalkeeping unit that already includes Daphne van Domselaar, Anneke Borbe and Isabella Damm, praising her consistency, presence and communication on the pitch.
