Arturia’s MiniFreak 49 makes its Freak synths more professional
Arturia has expanded its MiniFreak range with the MiniFreak 49, a digital synthesiser with a larger keyboard and controls aimed at more professional use. It keeps nearly all the sound-generating features of the existing MiniFreak while making performance and sound editing more direct.
The new model has 49 full-sized, semi-weighted keys with mono aftertouch, plus aluminium pitch and modulation wheels, a larger screen and dedicated controls for its two sound engines. It retains more than 30 digital oscillator types and analogue filters, and adds audio-rate filter FM, 256MB for user samples and wavetables, and an XYZ touchpad for sound controls and preset browsing. It is available for a recommended price of $849.
